How we handle it
A roof is a system: decking, underlayment, ice-and-water protection at the eaves and valleys, flashing, ventilation and shingles. We replace damaged decking and renew the flashing instead of covering it over.
If you're planning an addition or new skylights, we coordinate the roofing with the framing so the house is open to the weather for as short a time as possible.
Ontario requires Working at Heights training for anyone using fall protection on a construction project. The roofing crews we use have it.
Common questions
Repair or replace?
If the roof is relatively young and the problem is local, such as flashing or a few shingles, a repair makes sense. Widespread curling, granule loss or soft decking usually means replacement.
Can you roof in winter?
Repairs, yes. Full replacements are possible in cold weather with the right methods, but shingles seal best when it's warmer.
