How we handle it
Renovations are the right moment to fix electrical problems, because the walls are open. We plan circuits around how you'll use each room: dedicated lines for kitchen appliances, proper bathroom protection, and lighting on separate switches.
Older GTA homes often have knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring. We'll tell you what you have, what your insurer is likely to ask about, and the options for dealing with it.
In Ontario, electrical work for hire must be done by a Licensed Electrical Contractor, and most work requires a notification to the Electrical Safety Authority. Our electrical partners file it and you get the certificate.
Common questions
Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. It depends on your service size and existing loads. A load calculation answers it, and there are load-management options if the panel is close to its limit.
Can you add pot lights without damaging the ceiling?
In most cases yes, with small access holes that we patch and paint.
Is knob-and-tube wiring dangerous?
It's old and ungrounded, and many insurers want it replaced or inspected. We can arrange an assessment and price the replacement.
