How we handle it
Kitchens run on sequence. Cabinets have to be in before counters can be measured, counters before the backsplash, and the electrician and plumber each come twice. We build that schedule before demolition so the room is out of service for as short a time as possible.
If you want to open the kitchen to the next room, we find out whether the wall is load-bearing first. If it is, an engineer specifies the beam and the work is done under a building permit.
There is normally a wait between cabinet installation and counter installation while the tops are fabricated. We'll tell you how long, and can set up a temporary sink where possible.
Common questions
Can you work with cabinets I buy myself?
Yes. We install custom, semi-custom and flat-pack cabinets. Send us the plan before ordering so we can check measurements, fillers and appliance clearances.
Do you move gas lines and plumbing?
Yes, through licensed plumbers and TSSA-certified gas technicians. Electrical work is done by a Licensed Electrical Contractor.
Is opening a wall a big job?
It depends on what's inside it. A partition wall is simple. A load-bearing wall, or one carrying ducts or plumbing, needs engineering and a permit. We investigate before quoting.
